Skin conditions

Our skin is one of the important organs of our body. It regulates our body’s different functions. For example, protection of our body from the harshness of external environment, temperature regulation and also diseases from contact of external objects. Our skin’s condition represents our general and emotional health. Face skin is the most important part of this organ and a reflection of our health seen every day by all those around us.

Considering what our skin says to others about our health and well-being, we need to maintain the condition of skin internally and externally.  Along with the good nutrition, we need to nurture and protect the skin and its delicate structures by using products which are bioactive and highly effective in maintaining the skin’s healthy condition. Education about these skin health care products is the main key to learn about the nature of the products and their use.

Rosacea is a skin condition which shows as redness on the chin and nose, as if a person is blushing. The capillaries get inflamed at the surface of the skin and give the skin complexion blotchiness. Rosacea is a genetic condition, but certain factors aggravate this condition. Avoiding hot liquids, spicy food, and extreme temperatures help to reduce the symptoms of this condition.

Acne

Acne is caused by the over production of sebum and through secondary infection by bacteria present on the skin’s surface. Excess build-up of sebum may also cause black head and comedones.

Comedones

Comedones; are the little bumps on the skin caused by the accumulation of oil a closure of opening of sebaceous gland. These are of two types, Open and close comedones.

Open Comedones

Open comedones are the result of drained sebum, which later on turns into pigmented skin due to over production of melanin.

Close Comedones

Close comedones are the result of complete blockages of the opening of skin glands on the skins’ surface. Due to accumulation of sebum underneath the skin, these bumps turn in to white heads.

Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is the excessive accumulation and production of melanin, a pigment which gives the colour to skin, from light to dark. Over production of melanin in the skin is due to many factors, environmental effect, hormonal imbalance, stress, post inflammatory pigmentation, and creates dark spots and uneven colour of the skin.

Aging Skin

Our skin changes as we age. Wrinkles, age spots, and dryness appear on skin. Skin gets thinner and loses its collagen which makes it less plump and smooth. With aging sebaceous glands produce less oil and result in dryness of the skin. When menopause hits, hormonal imbalances occur and change the skin.

Aging skin repairs slower than the younger skin. It needs to be replenished externally with the use of a cleanser, toner, antiaging moisturiser, and antiaging serum routine. As well as balanced nutrition which includes proteins, vegetables, and fruit.
